Step into the spotlight, and into the heart of the community, with Rising Stars’ third annual children’s opera production! This year, we bring the literary classic Pinocchio to life through an imaginative operatic adaptation based on scenes from the works of Mozart, Donizetti, Offenbach, and Pergolesi.

In this rich musical retelling, students will portray colorful characters from Carlo Collodi’s beloved story, including the mischievous puppet Pinocchio, his devoted father, a mechanical doll named Olympia, and the tricksters who stand in their way. With dramatic storytelling, classical music, and meaningful lessons at its core, this production highlights themes of honesty, forgiveness, and the power of family.

Students will receive advanced training in acting, classical vocal technique, ensemble work, and stagecraft, all while preparing to tour the production to local elementary schools and senior programs across the state. Past children's operas at Rising Stars have reached over 1,500 students and older citizens, making this a unique opportunity for performers to grow artistically and make a difference through the arts.

Whether you're a seasoned vocalist or new to opera, Pinocchio offers a chance to challenge yourself, connect with your audience, and experience the joy of bringing meaningful stories to life.
